Achumawi basketry tray; Unknown weaver. C. 1930. H. 5.5" x W. 6". The basket has the floppy structure of a Klamath basket, but the design is Pit River. Tule warp construction. The weft is of bracken fern root and bear grass. "Flying geese" design. Condition: Excellent. No breaks in the weaving. From the Annie Darbee collection. Collected in Alturas, CA. Purchased in 2004 from Linn-Tucker Baskets at the Indian Arts Show, Santa Fe, NM.
