Bell Trading Post Turquoise Bracelet
Navajo turquoise and sterling bracelet with Morenci turquoise stone surrounded by raised and imbedded detail with twisted rope. Maker's marked and stamped sterling. Founded in 1932, Bell Trading Postās mission was to market southwestern style jewelry to tourist locations in competition with Maiselās Indian Trading Post. The rivalry between these companies was fierce. Bell sold jewelry crafted of copper, sterling silver, and nickel silver (an alloy that does not contain enough silver to be deemed sterling). Some gold-plated jewelry was marketed as well.
