Cigar Store Indian

Carved and painted cigar store Indian tobacconist figure, Circa 1900,or earlier retaining an old layered paint history, 53 1/2" H. Property of the Fenimore Art Museum sold to benefit the Acquisitions Fund. Good condition with old crackled surface. Thin sheet of wood between figure and base is modern. Feather possibly an old replacement.
