Hardy Bros "Carry All" Fishing Creel

Hardy Bros "Carry All" Fishing Creel

Rare Hardy Bros LTD (C.D.T.) "Carry All" fishing creel made and registered in 1883 in Alnwick, United Kingdom. Hardy Bros. Ltd., founded in 1872 in Alnwick, England, is known for making some of the world's best fishing tackle, including fishing creels. While Hardy is best known for their precision-engineered reels and rods, they also make stunning wicker creels. These creels, like other Hardy items, were made to the highest standards, demonstrating the company's reputation for quality and innovation in angling gear. This creel, the "Carry All", was a staple of the Hardy Bros creels and established them as a reputable creel producer. It features a top storage with the fish hole on one of the sides. The front latch is metal with a wood stick to lock the lid. The metal latch on the top reads, "Hardy Bros Makers Alnwick" while the front shows a Victorian Registration Mark with the patent number "400781" and the patent date, "12-7-83".

To access the bottom fish hold section, two leather buckles have to be unlatched. The back features two straps for carrying the creel like a backpack, relieving pressure caused by the one strap method. This creel is a great piece of early angler history and shows good condition overall. Wear is present from its age and use over the years. 8 1/4" L x 16 1/4" W x 11 3/4" H
