Military Society Lodge Lance

Military Society Lodge Lance

Sioux style Military Society Lodge Lance. Lances of this caliber were heavily decorated from having been handed down from father to son, or as an awarded positionh in a military society lodge.

The four clsters of golden feathers attached to a beaded circle were indicative of multiple lodge memberships by a very senior warrior. Three banners at the beaded lance point show respects coming from other lodge elders as much more significance than typical coup awards.

The owner of this particular lodge lance would have been a very esteemed decision maker amongst the entire tribe. As a leader in battle, the owner of this lance would have been a very well known elder in almost all tribal meetings involving both military and social decisions.
